Can I Vote?

Today is election day, and many people who have felony convictions are wondering whether or not they are allowed to vote in the state of Ohio. The answer to that is as long as you are not incarcerated, you can vote.

If you're incarcerated, your voting rights are suspended until you are out of that incarceration.

And once you get out, you can vote once you re register, even if you're on parole or probation.

If you have a misdemeanor conviction, you can always vote.

Even if you are incarcerated, you are entitled to get an absentee ballot and mail that in while you're incarcerated for that misdemeanor conviction.

So on a day that's very important for all of us to do our civic duty, get out there and vote because you have the right. And that's Bret Jordan's tip of the day.
