I'm In Jail

A family member or a friend calls you and says, "Hey, I'm in jail. What should you do?

You should do this:

Tell them, "Stop talking. Just answer my questions."

The first question is going be:

"Where are you at?"

The second question is going to be:

"What are the charges?"

But also tell them:

"Do not tell me what happened and do not tell me that you're sorry."

Once you find out where they're at and what the possible charges are, tell them:

"Okay, I will get ahold of an attorney and hire one for you. But do not talk to the police and do not talk to anybody who is in that jail, and stay off the phones."

If you want to help your family member or loved one, that's what you need to do.

Don't be inquisitive.

Don't get them talking about what happened.
